After taking a psychology degree in the late 1950's I began my career in advertising before broadening my interests into teaching, marketing and general line management, eventually becoming the CEO of an engineering conglomerate employing over two thousand five hundred people.
Not entirely satisfied with success in industry and always having wanted to create art professionally I moved to the north Cotswolds some twenty years ago in order to become a full time artist.
I suppose that comparatively my work has had quite restricted exposure having only been shown in a limited number of galleries but I have sold steadily throughout the period.
I like to think that my now considerable reputation has been built on a powerful body of work which is unfettered by the influence of any of the recognised schools or artistic philosophy. It has recently been observed that I do not paint pictures - but that I create visual images and I know from experience that these images have enormous impact and resonance for people who are prepared to interact with my work.
